On Gathering Hopefulness
Somewhere between the quiet work of research and the noisy work of being heard, there is a space that doesn't get named often enough. It's the space where people who care about their subjects - deeply, patiently, sometimes for decades - try to bring that care into the world and find someone to share it with.
That space is where On Gathering Hopefulness lives. Welcome.
And if you ever want to bring what you care about into the world, contact me and we’ll find a way.
A Creative Act of Service
Completing a PhD isn’t just technical; it’s creative, relational, and deeply human. Universities provide much, but doctoral work also needs dedicated space for reflection, creativity, and community. What comes back
We've been thinking lately about work that returns — not in the nostalgic sense, but in the sense of things that come back into view when the conditions are right.

As the largest free encyclopedia, Wikipedia links public curiosity to peer-reviewed work. Now we’re moving from questions to practical solutions and actions.
Lines Undrawn: Community Publishing Garden in Action

With the School of Advanced Study’s Maker Space team, we celebrated personal and community growing stories and taught simple collage, layout, and printing methods to create mini publications that share, inspire, and preserve community gardening knowledge.

We’re connecting HumComm experts across communities and borrowing lessons from SciComm to build the CHC. As the Scholars Program develops, we’re launching several actions at once: workshops and seminars to shape community-led HumComm, plus supports for trying new forms and formats.
